Cowpea - 1 cup

Big onion (finely chopped) - 1

 Garlic (finely chopped) - 4-5 buds

Tomatoes (finely chopped) - 3

Green chili (finely chopped) - 2-3

Ginger - 1 inch

Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon

Coriander Powder - 1 teaspoon

Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon

Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon

Garam Masala - 1/2 teaspoon

Coriander (finely chopped) - 1 tbsp

Salt - as per taste

Oil - As per need

Water - as per need

Method - Serve cowpea pulses in lunch Recipe

  1. To make it, first of all, wash the cowpea and soak it in water overnight.
  2. Then the next day put cowpea, salt, and water in a cooker on high heat and boil for 7-8 whistles.
  3. On the other hand, grind onion, tomato, green chilies, garlic, and ginger in a grinder to make a paste.
  4. Then heat oil in a pan on medium heat and add cumin seeds to it.
  5. As soon as the cumin seeds are roasted, add paste, cumin powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder and cook the spices till they leave the oil.
  6. As soon as the spices start leaving the oil, add cowpea in it and let it boil by adding water according to the thin lentils you want.
  7. After boiling, cook on low heat for 5 minutes.
  8. When the lentils are boiled according to you, then mix the garam masala and turn off the gas.
  9. Your cowpea lentils are ready.
