Hape Kerkeling receives honorary award

Hape Kerkeling is planning a TV comeback

Hape Kerkeling will personally receive the award for his life's work as part of the awarding of the German Television Prize in Cologne. RTL broadcasts the gala hosted by Barbara Sch├Âneberger (47) on the same evening with a time delay from 8:15 p.m. The honorary award was first awarded in 1999. The award winners include J├╝rgen von der Lippe (73; 2019), Thomas Gottschalk (71; 2018) and Frank Elstner (79; 2012).

The price comes at the right moment: the comedian, entertainer and author will soon be more public again and will celebrate his TV comeback in two VOX formats in late autumn. In “Hape and the 7 Dwarf States”, Kerkeling travels through Andorra, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, San Marino and the Vatican. In “An Evening with Hape Kerkeling” the comedian reads from his new book “Pfoten vom Tisch! My cats, other cats and me ”and gives insights into his world.

The entertainer actually retired entirely from show business on the occasion of his 50th birthday in 2014. In 2019 he was back in front of the camera as an actor for “Der Boandlkramer und die Ewige Liebe” (2021), before the commercial broadcaster RTL announced the big TV comeback for 2022 in March 2021. The said book was also published in June 2021.

Kerkeling will also be back musically: his new album "Mal unter uns ..." will be released on October 22nd. The first song "Der Weg nach Haus" has already been released in advance, the first real single including a music video will be with "Ich leb den Traum" on September 24th.
